Our daily life experiences—though not all—when closely examined, often reflect the truth of biblical teachings. One such reflection is the short but impactful history of our NGO, the Touching Lives Awareness Initiative.
Our story is best understood through the parable of the mustard seed, found in the Gospel of Matthew (13:31–32). While we may not yet be large in scale, our deepest desire and hope—by God’s grace—is to grow into a great tree offering shelter and support to many.
It all began in 2017 as a burning desire to help those in need around us—especially children who were eager to learn but lacked the financial support to pursue education.
As a housewife and a student, I was overwhelmed by this dream. I lacked the resources and was unsure of how to proceed. Yet, the burden to serve never left me. Eventually, I sought advice on how to bring this vision to life.
My dear husband, Mr. Daniel Ozokwelu, understood the dream but was equally unsure how it could be realized, given our limited means. Nevertheless, he promised to support me in any way he could.
Encouragement soon came from Mr. Ozioma Obilite, who offered his support and motivation not to give up.
The turning point came when I met Rev. Fr. John Mgbeahuruike, who encouraged me to begin with whatever little I had. “Nothing is too small,” he told me. And so, I began.
I picked up a few children in our neighborhood, paid their school fees, and bought books for them. With the support of my husband, Mr. Ozioma, and Rev. Fr. John, we reached out to more people in need.
As the number of those needing help increased, we sought support from kind-hearted families in the community. And God, in His mercy, began to raise people who shared the same vision.
Today, by His grace, we are nine dedicated members, working together in the spirit of the Good Samaritan.
In addition to Mr. Ozioma Obilite and Rev. Fr. John Mgbeahuruike, our core team includes:
To God be the glory forever.
With great joy in our hearts and on behalf of the entire Touching Lives family, I extend our heartfelt thanks to our pioneer benefactors and benefactresses. You believed in us. You trusted us—even when others have misused platforms like this.
We remain committed to financial transparency and open to your advice, suggestions, and support for the continued growth of this organization.
Now officially recognized as an NGO, our dreams are expanding:
You can support this mission by donating or joining us as a member.
It is truly fulfilling to touch lives for Christ and bring smiles to people’s faces.
May the Lord, who has called us to this mission of love, continue to provide, sustain, and protect us—and all those who support this cause. As we gather today to celebrate this official unveiling ceremony, may He give us the strength and grace to fulfill this calling according to His divine will. Amen.
